Early Head Start Mom Crochets Pumpkin Hats for Kids

Angelica, a parent in our Early Head Start Program, made pumpkin caps for the children in her son Adam’s classroom. She has been crocheting for one year.

Angelica spoke to us about her hobby and Alta Early Head Start:

What made you want to make the hats for the class?

“It was getting cold out and I thought it was a cute way for the kids to learn their colors and what the item was (a pumpkin).”

What is the best aspect of your hobby?

“Its soothing. It’s the only thing that I get to do that’s mine. I’m a single mom, and it’s the only thing I really have that I can do when Adam goes to bed.”

What do you like best about Alta’s Early Head Start program?

“I like how supportive the program is to my child’s needs. They take extra time to work with him. The teachers are doing an amazing job, and I like them very much — they honestly make the program.”

Our grateful thanks to Angelica for this wonderful gesture that benefits all the children in her child’s classroom!
